Gaming Events and Conventions

The Dragon would like to thank our regular Warhammer players for coming in to help with terrain rebuilding. It was very appreciated to have so many hands in the store to fix and build new pieces for everyone to use. Thank you all for your time and you've done a great job!
Board Game Pub is at Frugal MacDougall's on Baker Street one Monday a month! If you've never been there, you can find it at 76 Baker Street in Downtown Guelph, across from the Baker Street parking lot. Come join us the first(ish) Monday of ever month at 7PM for board games! We have missed a lot of our board game regulars so be sure to come by and join in the fun again! Also be sure to check out our new Club Cards for special discounts! Please Note: that if you are going to be purchasing food at Frugal's we suggest arriveing early so that the plates can be cleared before play begins. We're having a sale on GW stock!
Rare as it is, it is in fact happening! We're trying to get rid of some older merchandise so we can bring in more of what you really want. So... old packaging blisters of Fantasy and 40K are 30% off; several Fantasy boxes are 50% off (looked for highlighted stickers); any new packaging blisters that are held together with tape or staples are 20% off! This sale is indefinite until we run out of the things on sale!!

Warhammer 40K Tournament: SATURDAY JULY 31ST 2010
10:00-8:00, 1850 points, $20 ($15 for valid GW Club Cards)
3 Colour minimum, no Basing required.
WYSIWYG and all standard Games Workshop tournament rules apply.
Sign Up is available NOW, space is limited to 16 players.
Players who have left past tournaments early are NOT welcome to sign up. The event runs from 10AM to 8PM and all players must be available for the entire event (barring emergency).
Prizes will be awarded in the form of store credit.
Warhammer Fantasy Tournament: tba
10:30-8:30, 2000 points, $20 ($15 for valid GW Club Cards)
Visit the Guelph Magic website for information on our in-store tournaments and events. There is a Magic event just about every other Sunday at The Dragon! Upcoming events include January 24th Two Headed Giant Extended Pauper and February 4th Worldwake Release Draft.
Open Play every Thursday evening. We're open til 9pm on Thursdays, so come on down and play!
Yu Gi Oh casual play Saturday April 10th. For information on banned cards and game rules check out the Yu Gi Oh Game Play site.
Check WizKids Games for details on each event. We have HeroClix almost every other Sunday at The Dragon!
D&D Encounters every Wednesday Night from 5:30-8PM!!
Come join us for drop in D&D Encounters! D&D Encounters is an in-store weekly mini-campaign played out one encounter each Wednesday. The second season of Encounters, Dark Sun, runs from June 9th to September 15th. This season will be played with pre-generated characters ONLY and players of all levels of experience are welcome. D&D Living Forgotten Realms:
The Dragon will be hosting LFR days one Saturday a month. Sign up is at Warhorn.net. Sign up DOES NOT ROLL OVER. All players must sign up for each module/event separately. Space is strictly limited to 6 players per table based on the number of DM volunteers. The next event will be IN AUGUST and a final date, module and sign up will be announced by the end of July. Anyone interested in DMing please email amy@thedragonweb.com.
The Dragon is always looking for DMs! We have had such a great turn out for D&D Encounters and Living Forgotten Realms that we need to expand! We have space for up to 6 tables of players, but not enough Dungeon Masters. If you have any 4th Ed Dungeon Master experience and are a Wizards of the Coast Hearld level DM looking for a chance to volunteer at the store we would love to have you! Plus, D&D DMs get special bonuses from both the Dragon and Wizards of the Coast! For more information please contact the store or check out the D&D Encounters page listed above.
CONVENTIONS
This is our local gaming convention. Three days of all the gaming you can handle, including card games, miniature games, RPGs, and LARPing! It takes place at the University on March 26th to 28th, 2010.
One day of Warhammer madness with events to satisfy everyone! There's a conversion contest, speed painting, a scavenger hunt, art competition, costume competition and much more, including the Grand Tournament, as well as the renowned painting competition, Golden Demon. The next Games Day is June 20th, 2009 at the CNE. Check the website for more detailed event info, and admission prices.
The 3-day FanExpo in August has something for everyone, including gamers! There are games events and dealers all weekend. The con runs August 27th to 29th, 2010. Check the website for all the guests and details about their other conventions.
This con is a sci-fi and gaming convention with some truly interesting guests, including writers, artists, and game designers. There are lots of gaming events, including LARPing, role playing, and a Masquerade. The con runs March tba, 2010. Check their website for more information.
Hosts of Pandemonium, an excellent gaming convention held yearly, where fans of all sorts of game systems, old and new, come together to play! This con seems to be on hiatus. Please check their website for more details.
