Gaming Events and Conventions
We have started three new club discount cards, one each for Magic, Games Workshop and Board Game Pub!
For the Magic Club Card you can earn stamps when you come to the store for Thursday Night Magic. It takes three Thursdays to activate your card and after that for every four Thursdays you play you get a one time purchase of boosters, however many you want, at $4 each tax included instead of $4.50! Also, if you come out to play five in store tournaments between each new Magic set you can get and extra 5% off your next booster box purchase. Currently we sell booster boxes for 15% off the regular pack price so that will be a box at 20% off!
The Games Workshop card is similar, for playing four games in store each month you will get 15% off your next purchase. This discount is only available once a month, but for every six games you play in store you will get your next GW Tournament entry for $15.
Lastly, for all you board gamers, each time you come out for a Board Game Pub at Frank and Stein's you can get a stamp good for 10% off your next board or card game purchase (excluding Magic and Games Workshop products). This discount is not cumulative but can be used on a purchase of more than one item.
We will keep all the cards in the store and bring them to Board Game Pub with us. So come in and ask staff for your new card and start saving!
Board Gamer Nights!
Starting Monday March 1st come join us at Frank and Stein's at 6:30PM for board games! We will be hosting our game night there the FIRST AND THIRD MONDAY of ever month. We missed a lot of our board game regulars in February so be sure to come by and join in the fun again!
We're having a sale on GW stock!
Rare as it is, it is in fact happening! We're trying to get rid of some older merchandise so we can bring in more of what you really want. So... old packaging blisters of Fantasy and 40K are 30% off; several Fantasy boxes are 50% off (looked for highlighted stickers); any new packaging blisters that are held together with tape or staples are 20% off! This sale is indefinite until we run out of the things on sale!!

D&D Encounters every Wednesday Night from 6-9PM starting March 17th!!
Come join us for drop in D&D Encounters: Undermountain! D&D Encounters is an in-store weekly mini-campaign played out one encounter each Wednesday. We will have pre-made characters available for those unfamiliar with D&D and both new and old players are welcome! Participants will gain points that can be used for exclusive rewards that you can apply to your current and future D&D Encounters characters. This Encounters season will last from March 17th to June 2, but you don't have to come to ever game if you can't make it! For more information check out the D&D Encounters page.
CONVENTIONS
Guelph's own two day Anime Convention is on February 20 and 21st, 2010 at the Best Western Royal Brock Hotel & Conference Centre, formerly the Ramada Hotel & Conference Centre. Pre-registration is open until January 31st so be sure to grab your tickets soon. Pre-reg weekend tickets are $20, weekend tickets at the door are $25. This is our local gaming convention. Three days of all the gaming you can handle, including card games, miniature games, RPGs, and LARPing! It takes place at the University on March 26th to 28th, 2010.
One day of Warhammer madness with events to satisfy everyone! There's a conversion contest, speed painting, a scavenger hunt, art competition, costume competition and much more, including the Grand Tournament, as well as the renowned painting competition, Golden Demon. The next Games Day is June 20th, 2009 at the CNE. Check the website for more detailed event info, and admission prices.
The 3-day FanExpo in August has something for everyone, including gamers! There are games events and dealers all weekend. The con runs August 27th to 29th, 2010. Check the website for all the guests and details about their other conventions.
This con is a sci-fi and gaming convention with some truly interesting guests, including writers, artists, and game designers. There are lots of gaming events, including LARPing, role playing, and a Masquerade. The con runs March tba, 2010. Check their website for more information.
Hosts of Pandemonium, an excellent gaming convention held yearly, where fans of all sorts of game systems, old and new, come together to play! This con seems to be on hiatus. Please check their website for more details.
