CONVENTIONS
One of North America's largest Anime conventions. Tons of showings of Anime, a huge dealers room, and guests ranging from voice actors to manga creators. If you love Anime or Manga, this is the show for you! The next show is May 28th to 30th, 2010. Please check their website for more details.
Hobby Star runs a lot of different shows. They have one- and two-day shows, some of which are specifically anime and the big 3-day FanExpo at the end of the summer. They always have voice acting guests and anime programming, and the August FanExpo includes a Masquerade and usually some extra special anime/manga guests. They have shows on December 13th, 2009, March 20th-21st, 2010, and the FanExpo is August 27th-29th, 2010.
This is our local anime convention. Celebrating its first year in 2009, it's an opportunity for anime and manga fans from the tri-city area to come together and celebrate their fandom. It takes place February 21st and 22nd, 2010, at the Best Western Royal Brock Hotel & Conference Centre across from the University.
